WHBC Venue from above

Wellers Hill Bowls Club is more than a sporting venue; it’s a gathering place shaped by the people of Tarragindi. For more than sixty years, our greens, hall and shared spaces have brought neighbours, families, community groups and social clubs together. We’re a volunteer-run club built on belonging: a place where you can play bowls, host a celebration, join a class, rehearse with your group, or simply spend time with others in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Whether you’ve lived here forever or you’ve just moved in, this is a community you can be part of.

  • Wellers Hill Bowls Club acknowledges the Turrbal and Jagera people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our club stands. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and recognize their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.

  • Tarragindi Community Garden

Tarragindi Community Garden was established at Wellers Hill Bowls Club in 2020 to bring the community together to grow fresh produce in a sustainable way. The Community Garden group are extremely important to us and are increasingly involved in bringing new projects to our club.

  • Accessibility

In 2021, Wellers Hill Bowls Club partnered with Brisbane City Council to upgrade our access from carpark to bowling green. New paths and ramps were installed and now the Championship Green is fully wheelchair accessible. In 2024, the Board established a subcommittee to create Disability Access and Inclusion Plan and this is now in place at the club.

  • WHBC founding members

Wellers Hill Bowls Club was established in Tarragindi 1962. The current clubhouse and hall was built on a council lease in the early 1970s in Sexton Street Park next to the Tarragindi Tigers Football Club. More recently the club has welcomed the local community to our friendly club, with nearly 2000 social members and more than 50 full bowling members.
